Evaluating Your Leadership Strategies

 Ka mau te wehi!

I have been really pleased in your growth as leaders over the last three lessons you have devoted to training your 9M  Fitness groups.
Now I have two blogging tasks for you.
  1.  I would like you to post one of your  evaluative reflections here for the week.
  2. The second expectation I have is that you respond/feedback to two  blogs belonging to your classmates.
Just as I expect your reflections  will be carefully considered and constructed, I have high expectations that your comments and feedback will be.....

Positive        Thoughtful       Helpful

For those who were not in the Google Meet - look on the doc and see what you have been allocated.

I'm so happy (and proud) right now

He aha ai? -Why?
The 'common purpose' I asked you to commit to was to provide information on  Components of Fitness. On opening the above document you will see that EVERY individual  who was delegated or volunteered for a component, completed their task well. Consequently, we now have a collaborative document which all your classmates can learn from, can seek further detail from and can train from!
He mihi  maioha ki nga kaimahi katoa!

Your teaching Assignment - Components of Fitness

Kia ora ano koutou

There are 11 - yes 11 components of fitness and each component can be tested to ascertain your level in that SPECIFIC component. Fortunately, many training methods target more than one component as most components overlap.
One item on the agenda of our Google Meet for Wednesday was to  choose a  component of fitness to research and make a presentation to the group.
If you were absent from the meet ,I shared the document for you to download for everyone
Here is a link to that document your classmates from Level 2 and Level 3 PE are co-constructing to help you understand the various Components of Fitness   and how to test and train for improve each component. Sammy,Tamarangi and Sophia have already contributed some helpful information . Use the links they have provided to include VARIETY and SPECIFICITY to your lockdown training.

Wahanga Tuarua Welcome Back!

Genuinely, honestly, without a word of a lie - I was so happy to see you all in the Google Meet
today. I think I might even have missed you. Pono!

Anyhow, further to the instructions I gave you in our Google meet I want you to do the following
before our next online meeting on Friday 17 April 12.

        1. Go into the post Maori World Views and follow the prompts there.Yes - your responses will  challenge your sense making and predictive thinking processes but if it was easy then you aren’t learning.Although you are not responsible for the Risk Analysis Management (RAM) Plan for the Cross Country you have to EVALUATE both the RAM and it’s implementation

so you MUST be familiar with every aspect in order to evaluate it.

        2. Go into the Training to Lead to the Cross Country post and read why and how you should be training. Ensure you read Sophia’s posts as she is developing a very concise way of including details pertaining to distance run, duration and training heart rate (THR)
Training responses are specific to the way you train. Hence, running is the most specific way to prepare for the Cross Country and remember “Be the well informed, responsive.walker of the talk’ leader you would like to be led by for the students you will be training once we all physically go back to school”. So you MUST train and recording your training helps you monitor your improvements and provides motivation (Taha Hinengaro, Taha Wairua)
You need rest/recovery days built into your training schedule for many reasons  and this article has some of them.

No reira kia kaha koutou. Ka kite a te paraire

I would like to challenge you all to run AT LEAST 3 times a week. I'll add Pilates, HIIT Training Ab and Butt training videos to this site for your non-running days. I would love it if you post when you have done a training and what your progress is. Kia kaha Kia maia Kia manawanui tatou katoa

Day 1 27 March - OMG Did Day 1 for Beginner's Running Guide. Didn't know I had let myself get so-o-o unfit. Leg muscles so atrophied (lost muscle mass) had trouble with mechanics of running and  felt discomfort in my hips. my poor heart muscle struggled too so I  got close to  my max heart rate
220-59 (my age) =  161bpm. Was in the 150s at one point. By minute 16, not much difference between the 'run' and the walk.LOL  Favourite parts, the warm up,the walks and the warm down. Will do one of the following core workouts later

        Maori World Views - EOTC

        Kia ora ano koutou

Hopefully you have opened and can navigate your way through this site

        MOE resource EOTC-Guidelines

We will start by looking at the philosophical foundations of EOTC (Education Outside The Classroom) For the next two days we will be focusing on the Maori World Views module.
Please make a Google doc entitled EOTC blog Posts so that you can write responses to each post I make - edit -THEN post to the blog. It would be a good idea to copy and paste the instructions onto your google doc, write your well considered response then copy and paste  only your thoughts to the blog -not the questions.

        1. "Education in and outside the classroom needs to contribute to the Hauora/Wellbeing of it's participants (students and teachers)"

How do you anticipate training for the Cross Country and the BOIC Cross Country EOTC event itself will contribute to all four dimensions of student participant Hauora?

I would like you to look at the six  values included in The Whare Tapere section and consider how our actions pertaining to the cross country could promote growth in all six values but only write a response to the following based on Rangatiratanga.

        2. "...each member of the group can influence the direction the group takes and as such there is a sense of shared leadership and collaboration"

Looking again at your Leading to the Cross Country assessment  tasks while considering this quote, which tasks will require you to "... share a certain purpose" and "...  act in unison" and with whom?

        3. Your final task is to comment on the post of two other  classmates. Please ensure your comment is
POSITIVE      THOUGHTFUL and, if you can, HELPFUL
